A court case involving former Joliet Police Officer concluded in Will County last week. The Illinois State Police said Rodrigo Marin, 44, of Plainfield was traveling in the southbound lanes of Interstate 55 near Plainfield when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the front left side of a box truck around 6 a.m. on January 19 th of 2020. After the incident, both vehicles came to a stop and Marin left the scene of the crash, but was later located on foot. In that case, Marin pled guilty to Aggravated DUI while having two previous convictions, a class two felony and was sentenced to four years in prison followed by two years of parole.
